The internal composition, organization and administration of a Venture Scout Unit are decided by an Executive Committee, elected by the Venture Scouts of the Unit, at regular intervals as may seem fit for that particular Unit. The size of the Committee and the method of selection will depend on the size and composition of the Unit. The Executive Committee will consist of a Chairman and such other members as the Unit may decide.

All started on Friday night when at about 8:30pm we met at our headquarters and after having the last briefing about the journey we departed to Cirkewwa. From there we boarded the Gozo ferry and after some minutes we were at Mgarr harbour. We pitched our tents and spent the first night of our journey beneath Forth Chambray. It was amazing how members of the Venture Unit and Rover Crew managed to share their food and drink supplies.
On Saturday we had to wake up very early in the morning, actualy some few minutes after sunrise so as to avoid the large ammount of heat which was due to happen due to the clear weather that was forecasted. We managed to arrive at Nadur earlier then planned and so we could afford having a longer break.
After this break we headed to Xaghra and after passing through a valley just beneath this village we passed by the parish church were we met our brothers in scouts from the Xaghra Scout Group. These scouts led us to their headquarters were we had a very warm welcome. We exchanged ideas about some joint activities and even shared ways by which this group can train their leaders. Following thi break, we followed our route which led us to Victoria scouts headquarters. Here again we found the group scout leader who showed us the headquarters and gave us a brief description of the facilities which we can use. We organised a table-soccer league and afterwards we had dinner.
On Sunday we woke up a bit later then the previous day due to the fact that the distance remaining in order to reach our destination was only 8Km. We started this day by going to the mass and afterwards we had breakfast at nearby coffee shops. Going back to the Victoria scouts H.Q. we checked all the headquarters to make sure that we leave the place clean and tidy.
Our last destination was Mgarr harbour, from here we boarded the ferry and were soon on our way to Cirkewwa. Here we took some group photos and moved back towards our headquarters.
It was a great Journey in which the older sections of the Hamrun Scout Group ( Venture Unit and Rover Crew ) once again demonstrated their skills, long term planning gave us great results.

Last Friday after having our usual meeting everything was set for both Rover crew members and members from the Venture unit to start drawing our route and hence writing down the exact co-ordinates we should pass from during our expedition.
The Gozo map was well examined and footpaths to be used were further checked against contour lines to
avoid steep paths. Points involving valleys were compared to the inteligence collected from our Gozitan friends so as to stay away from obstructed trails which can lead us to a waste of time.
Emergency paths were also considered for the reason that our policy is to stick to our motto and BE PREPARED for any situation that may emerge.
Route Summary:
Once again we would like to thank all Gozitan Scout Groups for giving us their support. We are sure that this expedition will strengthen our relations with these groups, and offer our mutual support regarding any Scouting matter.

On Saturday afternoon (Last Saturday) the 1st Hamrun Venture Unit had in program to go for a hike.
We ate and were ready to begin our hike. At about 14.00 we started walking from our camping site. In the hike we did not walk very much but we had lots of fun because we did lots of adventures like rock climbing, and took lots of
photos which could be seen in this site too.
We arrived at the camp site at about 16.00.It was a hike with a difference, typical of the 1st Hamrun Venture Unit.
Following our latest correspondances with both Gozitan Scout groups I am in a position to announce that these groups offered their assistance during our coming event.
Xaghra Scout Group wish to meet us at their Headquarters, and having this invite I am sure that both Venture Unit and Rover Crew will agree to addapt our route so that we will meet our brothers in scouts.
In addition during the centenary camp we asked Victoria Group Scout Leader about the possibility to sleep at their H.Q. and to this request, again they offered their full support.
These issues and others concerning the Gozo expedition will be on the agenda of next Friday’s meeting.

The Chairman of the Executive Committee will be a Venture Scout and the Venture Scout Leader will work with him. However successful the internal organization of the Unit, the Venture Scout Leader will always be responsible for the progress of the Unit.
Long term plans and other important matters should be discussed by the whole Unit in full session and then final decisions should be taken by the Executive Committee and Venture Scout Leader; the latter should always keep the G.S.L. fully informed. Detailed short term planning should be started by the Executive Committee in the first instance, and then continued by the group carrying out the activity. The Executive Committee plays an important role, together with the Venture Scout Leader, in implementing the training schemes, maintaining the standards of the award scheme, assisting other Sections in the Group, and performing community service.
